To the left is the collection of my thumbnail examples for the rock paper scissors poster. I incorporated a variety of ideas, because i wasn't too sure of what type of layout I wanted. Once I started drawing, it became apparent that I much prefer the portrait style over landscape. The poster types that I am leaning towards are first row, first column, and third row, first column. I like to have the header towards the top of the page, and i like how the pictures are distributed on them as well. It's nice to be able to see the header, and then a diagram to represent the game right under it.
As for the images, i choose a series of diagrams
and black-and-white styles. I choose these images
because i believe that the style is something that
catches the eye, and showcases the rules and structure
of the game without being too over-the-top.
The images are simple, get the idea of the game
across, and enhance the overall quality of the
poster.

I like thumbnail number two with the header going down the side. i think thats very different and would look cool in the end.
ReplyDeleteI really like the last one. It has everything you need in a very simple design scheme. It was easy on the eyes too the way the text and rules flow together.
ReplyDeleteAs simple and minimalist the black and white theme is, I think you should try using the colored graphic and lighten up the presentation a bit. The colors could add a lot of potential charm
ReplyDeleteI really likr your second thumbnail for the header along the side. As the viewer reads the main title, it directs their eyes along the entire poster instead of just to top or bottom and makes sure they take in the full effect of your poster. There is a lot of potential behind your designs and I'm very interested to see where you go with them for the final product.
ReplyDeleteIf you are thinking about using number two, I would actually use the color squares that you weren't thinking about using and make them go vertical with writing going next to each one. I think this will bring the poster some color as well as it would be a cool graphic that has potential to catch the eye of people.
ReplyDeleteI think using large boxes works really well. The thumbnail second from the left in the first row looks cool with its header on the side.
ReplyDeleteusing color in the images will add a nice flare to the finished product. I am also a fan of the header being located on the side of the image
ReplyDeleteTemplete #8 got my interest because it's a unique place to put a header. I hope you pick that one, because it looks fun to read.
